Description
The Wisconsin DNR is hiring a Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) Program Coordinator in the Division of Environmental Management's Water Quality Program. The application deadline is 01/20/26.
This position serves as the primary staff responsible for statewide management of the WET and wastewater additives programs and advises other DNR programs in need of counsel on the effects of pollutants on the health of fish & aquatic life, wildlife, and humans.
This position may be headquartered in Madison, Milwaukee, or Waukesha, depending on business needs and the location of the selected candidate. Remote work will be available for 60% of the work week, after the initial onboarding period.

Requirements
Required qualifications include experience in ALL the following criteria:
- Formal training and/or experience related to natural resources or biological sciences (e.g., biology, water resources management, environmental science, chemistry, or other environmental studies).
- Work experience in a setting where it was necessary to interpret or apply state or federal requirements (e.g., policies, administrative codes, statutes).
- Experience managing and/or overseeing multiple projects at one time.
- Experience writing and presenting technical information to audiences of various knowledge or expertise of the content.
In addition, preferred qualifications include any of the following criteria:
- Education, training and/or experience related to developing, evaluating, or performing toxicity test methods.
- Formal education in natural resources or biological sciences or related field (e.g., biology, water resources management, environmental science, chemistry, or other environmental studies).
- Work experience assessing the impacts or potential impacts of point source pollution on aquatic life organisms.
